Weekend in London

A few weeks ago, I took a trip to London with my sisters. I currently live 1.5 hours away from London by train, yet I have never had the opportunity to do all those touristy activities whilst in London. So this trip was planned to live that tourist life in London.

We went for 2 nights, which resulted in 3 full packed days and loads of walking. Our hotel was situated near Edgeware Road; so we were in walking distance from Oxford Street as well as 5 minutes away from a tube station, perfect!

First stop was the theatres, we watched The Lion King, which was probably one of the best theatre productions I have ever seen. The Lion King has always been on of my favourite Disney movies, but for me the theatre production exceeded my expectations.

Now I am going to drown you in pictures taken on our trip. Enjoy!

Motivation Monday

Girl Boss- motivation monday

So the past few weeks have been kind of difficult to say the least, and motivating myself has been challenge. I am struggling between balancing revision for my final exam before I qualify, working full time, planning a wedding and few other issues. As I now get back into the swing of things, I thought I would share with you how I try to motivate myself to achieve my goals. Now, a goal does not have to be something big, it can be as small as a daily task.
  1. PLAN PLAN and PLAN some more!- now I have always been a planner and I love being able to cross things off my to-do list. Theres just a whole different feeling about it!
  2. Sit back and assess the situation- sometimes we are too hard on ourselves to get everything done all at once, but at times all we need to do is sit back and look at what really needs to be done now
  3. Priortise- Recently this has be one of the main things I have learnt to do, you don't need to complete everything on your list at once, as nice as it would be, its important to space out your time and look at what is really important and give that your all
  4. Take regular breaks- I can't stress how important this is!
  5. Do what make you happy- Most important point, and thats why have left it last so it hopefully sticks with you. There are times when we get so drowned and overwhelmed with everything (and thats been me the past few weeks), that I forgot to make time for the things I love doing and since I have started incorporating them back in, I personally have been a lot happier!
What do you do to motivate and succeed? I would love to know!

As always thank you for reading.

Make Up Revolution...the brand to beat!

Make up revolution

Make Up Revolution in my opinion is the brand to beat on the high street. The value and quality of their products is so impressive and affordable.

On a daily basis I use the Make Up Revolution Fixing Spray which does the job for me, making my make up last all day. I know there is a lot of misconceptions to whether fixing sprays actually work or whether they are just gimmicks but personally I can see a difference.

I picked up the Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer when they first came out and I love the way it looks and feel on my skin; they have amazing coverage and for the £4 price point you cannot go wrong. If you have not tried them yet, I would highly recommend you get your hands on them!

Recently, Make Up Revolution came out with Revolution Fast Base Foundation Sticks, and I knew I had to pick them up. I picked up 2 shades, initially just picking the one shade F8, which matched well but I felt it washed me out a little. So now I use F10 around the perimeters of my face, contour lines and neck and F8 in the centres of my face- that combination I love! The foundation sticks come in two tones; a pink undertones (odd numbers) and orange undertones (even numbers).

The coverage is perfect and buildable. The thing I have noticed is you need a well prepped base and throughout the day it can begin to get oily if not set properly with powder usually around my t-zone. Other than that, it has a creamy consistency and glides on to the face, and is easy to blend out. I usually use a beauty blender, as that is all I ever use to apply make up. The image below is an unedited picture taken on my iPhone, just to give you an idea of the coverage and finishing of the foundation. On top of the foundation, I have used the Make Up Revolution Concealer in the shade C5  and set it with Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder. I have not used any contour on my forehead, that is just the difference in the foundation shades.

Have you tried them yet? Or what is your favourite foundation stick? Leave a comment I would love to know!

Waiting For Spring

The weather in the UK has recently been so depressing and deceiving, there are days where the skies blue but it's freezing and then other days it is continuously raining. At this moment in time looking out my window all I can see is pouring rain and cloudy grey skies. I cannot wait for blue skies, sun with a little breeze, and the daily walks around different parks. Going for long walks and exploring is one of my favourite things to do, it is so calming, relaxing and refreshing. During my time at university, exam breaks use to alway involve going to my local park for a walk around the lake.

At the moment, I am currently in revision mode again but to qualify and pass my training year. So balancing revision and a full time job has been a little challenging. But whenever the weathers a little brighter, I use it to my full advantage and that also helps lift my mood and motivates me to revise- does anyone else feel like that?

I am slowly trying to bring a little spring into my outfits, a pop of yellow and out comes the loafers and away goes the wintery coats and boots- although some days I do have to bring them back out. The picture below, is an outfit I wore during the week, as I put it on, I felt spring ready. The scarf is standard scarf from Forever 21 that I brought a while ago but just never wore, the colour is so beautiful and bright. Shoes are from River Island, which are super comfortable and the tassels just add a little extra to and ordinary pair of loafers. And if you know me you will know I love shoes with tassels.

What I Currently Love To Wear

Recently the weather has been so unpredictable; there are days where the sun is shining and not as cold, other days when there sun is there but it is still freezing and then days where it is gloomy grey and wet. So recently I have had to change up on my coats/jackets, scarves and general accessories a little more than previous years.

One of my favourite coat/jacket to wear is from Zara, which I picked up in the sale for £49.99! It is a navy military style almost oversized blazer jacket and it is the perfect addition to my wardrobe to smarten up any outfit. I personally believe it makes up my whole outfit and I am so glad I picked it up although initially I went into get a different jacket.  Unfortunately they no longer have this particular one, but they have loads of similar ones.

It is so easy to wear, and almost any scarf I own goes with it, whether its maroon, black, grey or mustard. But one of my favourite scarves to wear is my Gucci Blanket scarf, which I picked up from Bicester Village a week ago as a birthday present to myself for £150- does anyone else do that? I love the colour transitions and how big it is. The two together work so well and I always get compliments when I wear them.
